"Of yore I followed countess Buddhas,

And perfectly trod the Ways

Of the profound and mystic Law,

Hard to perceive and perform.

During infinite kotis of kalpas,

Having followed all these Ways,

Attaining fruition on the Wisdom-throne,

I could perfectly understand."

Then will he labor to complete the progress,

And renovation of the World."

All over the world the faces of living ones are alike.

With tenderness they have come up out of the ground.

Look upon your children that they may face the winds and walk   the good road to the Day of Quiet.

Grandfather Great Spirit

Fill us with Light.

Give us the strength to understand, and eyes to see.

Teach us to walk the soft Earth as relatives to all that live."

Beloved of Heaven,

I have told your fury truly.

Now that her priestess

Has returned to her place,

Inanna's heart is restored.

The day is auspicious,

The priestess is clothed

In beautiful robes,

In womanly beauty,

As if in the light of the rising moon.

The gods have appeared

In their rightful places,

The doorsill of Heaven cries 'Hail!'

Praise to the destroyer endowed with power,

To my Lady enfolded in beauty.

Praise to Inanna."

(Reading from the Gayan)...

"Let Thy wish become by desire,

Let Thy will become my deed,

Let Thy word become my speech, Beloved,

And Thy Love become by creed.

Let my plant bring forth Thy flowers,

Let my fruits produce Thy seed,

Let my heart become Thy lute, Beloved,

And my body Thy flute of reed.

When I close my eyes in the solitude, I see Thy glorious vision in my heart; and, opening my eyes amidst the crowd, I see Thee acting on the stage of the earth.  Always I am in Thy dazzling presence, my Beloved; Thou takest me to heaven, and Thou bringest me on earth in the twinkling of an eye."
