We will read from the World Scriptures
We read in the Hindu Scriptures
Bhagavad Gita 4.1-3
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Wisdom.
We will read in the Buddhist Scriptures
"I have seen an ancient Path, an ancient road traversed by the rightly enlightened ones of former times."
Samyutta Nikaya ii.106
"Of yore I followed countess Buddhas,
And perfectly trod the Ways
Of the profound and mystic Law,
Hard to perceive and perform.
During infinite kotis of kalpas,
Having followed all these Ways,
Attaining fruition on the Wisdom-throne,
I could perfectly understand."
Lotus Sutra 2
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Compassion
We will read in the Zoroastrian Scriptures
"The Teacher of the Law will stide forth
Upon the Earth among its dwellers!
It is for the choice of man by man,
Each individually for himself,
To recognize the great impulse of the cause of ASHA,
Then will he labor to complete the progress,
And renovation of the World."
The Zend Avesta of Sarathustra p. 14
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Purity
We will read in the Native American Scriptures
"Grandfather Great Spirit
All over the world the faces of living ones are alike.
With tenderness they have come up out of the ground.
Look upon your children that they may face the winds and walk the good road to the Day of Quiet.
Grandfather Great Spirit
Fill us with Light.
Give us the strength to understand, and eyes to see.
Teach us to walk the soft Earth as relatives to all that live."
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Nature
We will read in the Divine Feminine Scriptures
"O my Lady,
Beloved of Heaven,
I have told your fury truly.
Now that her priestess
Has returned to her place,
Inanna's heart is restored.
The day is auspicious,
The priestess is clothed
In beautiful robes,
In womanly beauty,
As if in the light of the rising moon.
The gods have appeared
In their rightful places,
The doorsill of Heaven cries 'Hail!'
Praise to the destroyer endowed with power,
To my Lady enfolded in beauty.
Praise to Inanna."
Enheduanna 2300 B.C. Women in Praise of the Sacred p. 6-7
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our
gratitude for the Light of the Divine Love
We will read in the Jewish Scriptures
"Moses received the Torah on Sinai and delivered it to Joshua, and Joshua [delivered it] to the elders, and the elders to the prophets, and the prophets delivered it to the men of the Great Synagogue."
Mishnah, Abot 1.1
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Law
We will read in the Christian Scriptures
"In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things."
Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished."
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Self-Sacrifice
We will read in the Scriptures of Islam
" Lo! We inspired you [O Muhammad] as We inspired Noah and the prophets after him, as We inspired Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and Jesus and Job and Jonah and Aaron and Solomon, and as we imparted unto David the Psalms; and messengers We have mentioned to you before and messengers We have not mentioned to you... messengers of good cheer and of warning, in order that mankind might have no argument against God after the messengers. God was ever Mighty, Wise."
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Unity
We will now have a few minutes of silence (three minutes)
Let us pray Salat Most gracious Lord, Master Messiah,...(facing the God candle)
"Let Thy wish become by desire,
Let Thy will become my deed,
Let Thy word become my speech, Beloved,
And Thy Love become by creed.
Let my plant bring forth Thy flowers,
Let my fruits produce Thy seed,
Let my heart become Thy lute, Beloved,
And my body Thy flute of reed.
When I close my eyes in the solitude, I see Thy glorious vision in my heart; and, opening my eyes amidst the crowd, I see Thee acting on the stage of the earth. Always I am in Thy dazzling presence, my Beloved; Thou takest me to heaven, and Thou bringest me on earth in the twinkling of an eye."
Vadan Raga pp. 170-171
We offer to the Omniscient God, our reverence, our homage, and our gratitude for the Light of the Divine Truth
