CONFRATERNITY MEDITATION FOR OCTOBER 19

CONFRATERNITY MEDITATION FOR OCTOBER 19

“If a desire is not fulfilled it means that the person did not know how to desire; failure is caused by indistinctness of motive.” Gayan of Hazrat Inayat Khan

Annotation by Cherag Hamid Touchon

Fulfilling one’s desires is a combination of “head in the clouds, feet on the ground” This means that you have the ability to ferret out your inner inspirations on the one hand and to then follow through with the actual effort to bring them into being on the other. If you think of your life as a garden then you will realize that you need to be aware enough to be careful not to step upon the sprouts as they are trying to emerge and to make the commitment to water and feed and prune and harvest; each stage at the right moments and each plant according to its nature.
Without the overriding motive and effort to keep your life growing and blooming and replanted in a clear manor as you wish then it will grow like an untended garden. Without your will it will grow however it will according to the mechanics of the growth process. With or without your  effort, your life will grow. Stop to consider what your growing!
